World Cup Cricket frustation

India has been progressing in the world cup slowly which is good. But, the way in which there is a casual approach towards the bowling order troubles me. This is evident from the bad performances with good teams like South Africa and England. It’s always a known history that if Sachin hit’s some big number, we lose.  I am just trying to analyze the team before India West Indies match.

One thing I can strongly recommend is dropping Ashish Nehra. He is absolutely not in form. He was never in form. Two bowlers whom I never considered bowlers in Indian team are Ajith Agarkar and Ashish nehra.  Ashwin can be pulled in as a replacement for Virat Kohli. I also ask why Suresh Raina is used only for fielding?  He is a good batsman. I strongly recommend swapping Gambhir and Raina intermittently and making use of their fielding constantly.  Now we need to realize that our bowling is very weak/ver very very weak.  We don’t have a good wicket taking bowler. Harbhajan has failed drastically (he MUST reduce his arrogance and anger on the field and try to concentrate on spinning the ball or increasing the pace or do something..  – he is bowling like a dad bowling to his 4-5 yr old kid and we are branding him as a wicket taking bowler).  We will have to take it with the poor bowling team that we have.  One strategy to go for batting if we win the toss. Put a very very big score (nothing less than 350) on board.  Change the bowling order. Zaheer is the only bowler who looks to be in form. keep him for the last few overs.  Keep bowling in different lines and lengths. Don’t repeat a off side short ball that was hit for a boundary. Be active on catching some run outs. Bowl on the stumps.  There is a lot of confusion in the LBW area – keep the ball’s line towards the leg. Try some lose deliveries at times. Bring in consistent change in the bowling style and order.

Next game is about West Indies. I am sure Chris Gayle will have a blast with our bowlers. But just some trick should work.

Go India!! Show it to the world that matches can be won without good bowling side..
