Although the deadly civil war in Sri Lanka is over, there is no sign of relief anywhere. I was hard to see our own people dying between the bullets and bombs. But what is happening now? No idea! Media and Diplomats are restricted to enter many provinces in the war affected zone. Sri Lankan Govt says that it is doing the best in terms of relief. Time can only endorse this fact. With no basic utilities it is very difficult to even imagine the plight of people stuck in those areas.
I am sure anyone reading this should be in a better living condition.. access to computer, internet etc etc.. We grew up in a better environment with some basic utilities like education, hospitals, civil infrastructure, commercial establishment and administration, and keep looking for better prospects and future at every possible point of life. People here in the war infested zone lacked everything for over 3 decades. They have been seeing the worst possible massacre over these years. Be it the Tamil Tigers or the Sri Lankan Army. Both have ruined them in one way or the other.
My blood always boils when I see Tamil Politicians fooling people when it comes to Sri Lankan Tamils. The first I would point is Mr Karunanidhi. He charted the “double game” theory during the worst war period. No body talks about his ineffective action during the worst hit time. For people like Karunanidhi – “Tamil and tamizhans are needed only during elections and public events. He forgets when a problem starts. The Tamil Industry has a big chunk of people who prefer staying out of such issues from a personal note but want to show off in public as if they are deeply committed to Tamil community in Sri Lanka. No one actually cares.
